LODD Waterbury Captain Keane 2/22/07
It is great regret that I let you all know that Captain Keane of the Waterbury Fire Department passed away. Captain Keane was injuried in the fire apparatus accident that occured the other day. I would like to asked that you all keep Captain Keane in your prayes as well as the other 7 firefighters that were injured that day.

Brush Burn 5/12/07
MVA with ENTRAPMENT PRESTON & CITY OF NORWICH
On 5/11/07 the Poquetanuck department was dispatched to a serious MVA on Rt.2 near the Norwich city line. Before arrival Norwich PD stated that there was two mva's. One was at the town line and the other was at the intersection of Rt.2 and Palmer road. The mva at the town line had one minor injury and another that was entrapped in the pickup truck. The City of Norwich Squad A and Engine 2 were on scene along with Poquetanuck. After the roof was removed by the two department the pt was transferred to a waiting American ambulance. MVA with FIRE & EJECTION EGPFD 5/6/07

On the morning of 5/6/07 around 2 a.m. the East Great Plains Department was dispatched to a MVA with fire in front of Don Mallon's. Before arrival of Car 5 dispatch stated that there was a possible two ejections. Upon arrival of Car 5 found a fully involved car fire with patients on the ground. Quick work was done to handle patient care and extinguish the car fire.

Hazmat PBFD 5/2/07
The PBFD department was dispatched to a hazmat call at LBI. Upon arrival they found a 55 gallon drum of epoxy the was mixed wrong. The mixture then super heated and was smoking. The hazmat team from the Subase was called as well as a first alarm assignment. DEP was on scene and after the mixture cooled it self all units returned.
