MVA WITH INJURIES GALES FERRY 11/26/07

At 1300 the Gales Ferry department along with Ledyard Center were dispatched to a car vs. telephone pole with injuries. Upon arrival of the Gales Ferry assignment they found the telephone pole was broken at the base with wires hanging across the road. The Ledyard assignment was split with the engine to block the road and the rescue to the scene for pt care. The road was closed for about 2 hours until CL&P and AT&T could remove the wires. One adult and one child were transported for evaluation. CT D.O.T was on scene to sand the road due to the spread of the fluid spill.

The pole was snapped below the ground level

YORK, MAINE FIRE STATIONS

I stayed in York, Maine during my vacation so I had to find the fire house. Both stations are covered by one paid man per day and supplemented by the volunteers. If you get a chance to visit I suggest it. They have several older rigs including a 1970's open cab snorkel.

A few items I found on my trip

On my trip to Maine this past week I did a little site seeing of some fire houses. I also found this old Ladder truck that was sitting in the front lawn of some house in the back wood of Kittery. I will be posting more pics soon.
