New London 2nd alarm 9-20-07
On 9-20-07 the City of New London fire department was dispatched to Bank street for a structure fire. Upon arrival of the Battalion Chief reported heavy smoke and to start the 2nd alarm. Waterford companies covered the city while the Subase came to the scene as the FAST team. Canteen 1 arrived at the scene near the end of the call for refreshments

Can you say "TIN CAN" 8-13-07
On 8-13-07 the New London Police responded to Howard St. at Walbach St. for a box truck that struck a railroad bridge. There were no injuries or fluid spills to report. The driver must of thought that the truck was shorter the 10'-3". The Amtrack police were on scene and Amtrack personnel to inspect the bridge.

PBFD MVA 7/11/07
The Poquonnock Bridge department with Groton ambulance were dispatched to Long Hill road in front of Dunkin Donuts for a two car mva. PBFD units were G-30,engine 33&31with Groton ambulance G303. First responding units found a minivan that T boned a car in the drivers door. Additional ambulance was requested to the scene for two BLS transports to L&M. Mystic River ambulance G500 transported on patient and Groton took the other. On scene units moved vehicles off the road and opened both lanes for traffic.

Preston City Tanker Shuttle 6/25/07
On 6 /25/07 the Preston City department hosted a tanker shuttle drill in the center of town. The drill had a total of seven tankers, two engines at the draft sites, and Preston city units at the drill spot. The goal was to flow 1000 gpm, which was meet.

W/F Ledyard 6/18/07
On 6/18/07 the Ledyard and Gales Ferry units were dispatched to a structure fire at 8 Cartridge Trail. This house is located in the Highland section of town. Staff Sgt. Finkelstein was able to get the scene early and snap a few pics while operations were getting under way. The fire started on the rear porch from logs that were smoldering from a camp fire the night before. As you can see from the pics the building construction in this area is very poor. The roofing 2x4 and thin plywood with shingles. Mutual aid from Old Mystic, Mashantucket, and Subase Fast team to the scene.
